Job Description

Want to work for an award-winning integrated marketing and communications agency with a fast-paced & fun work environment?  Augustine is aggressively looking for a results-driven, Art Director to support its continued growth and expansion into the Dallas market with our retail and shopper marketing clients. We are looking for detailed, energetic candidates with strong retail design and print production skills and a minimum of 5 years experience in advertising and design. The Art Director will be responsible for creative and production responsibility for any project. Works with the Creative Director in producing creative for agency clients by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design: Works with Account Services to understand the strategy, design technical and business parameters to develop innovative, effective and creative solutions. Independently concept, design and produce creative for agency’s clients. Creates and delivers strategically designed comps for presentations.. Self-manage design projects, including setting priorities and meeting deadlines. Presents design concepts and rationale behind design concepts to the project team. Participates in agency creative meetings. Leads and/or participates in agency creative meetings.
  • Branding: Digests and understands client corporate identity and branding guidelines and technical restraints. Helps to manage the client’s brand through design integrity, messaging and consistency.
  • Art Direction: Manages and directs the design process by providing creative direction to Graphic Designers and Production Artists for specific projects.
  • Production: Prepares finished art and handle production work—from final prep through vendor output. Oversees file production materials and finished creative.
  • Department Support: Assists with the maintenance and ongoing improvement of departmental systems and processes.
  • Research: Conducts vendor and photo image research.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and PDF work flow
  • Retail Print experience
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
  • Ability to take initiative and to follow through
  • Consistency and ability to follow policy and procedure
  • Capable of setting and meeting deadlines
  • Must be a true team player that is focused on the “we” results
  • Must have 6+ years of agency experience
  • Social media and digital experience a plus

Location/Hours/Travel:

This is a full-time position in Dallas, TX.  Travel to agency headquarters in California may be required for initial on-boarding, as will other occasional travel to Sacramento for corporate meetings, events or training.
